Philips Norelco PT730 Powertouch Electric Razor

Philips Norelco PT730 Powertouch Electric RazorI have reviewed some of the more expensive razors on the market and I thought it would be good to see what you would get with a more budget friendly option.  The Philips Norelco PT730 Powertouch can be had for under 50 bucks and you still get a lot of features for the price.  Now if you already have a decent shaver for your face we recommend the Bodygroom 7100 for the rest of your body, it is one of the best investments I have made.

If you haven’t heard by now, Norelco is one of the leading manufacturers of men’s electric shavers and for good reason.  Just like many of the other electric razors, the Powertouch has flexing heads to make sure you get an even shave while the heads contour to your face.  This shaver also includes a dual precision shaving system that will get short stubble as well as long hair all at the same time.  So far I am impressed with this shaver and the clean shave that I have received.

Features of the Norelco PT730 Powertouch Electric Shaver

Philips Norelco PT730 Powertouch Electric RazorA feature I really enjoy about the Powertouch is the pop-up trimmer that is included.  This is perfect for trimming facial hair like shaping sideburns, goatees, or even mustaches.  This saves me time and I can use just one electric shaver to get all of this done.  Clean up is extremely easy and all you have to do is run the razor under running water and get anything else with the cleaning brush.  One thing I would like to mention is that this electric razor is not waterproof like the higher models so we recommend that you don’t use this in the shower and that you don’t use gel or shave wet.

The battery life of the PT730 is almost as good as the higher models.  You can expect about 40 minutes of use with a full charge and includes a Lithium-Ion battery.  Also, there is an LED light that will indicate how much charge you have left. I have gone as long as two weeks without needing to charge this shaver.  Now I can report that there was no tugging or pulling when I was shaving.  That is one thing that makes me return an electric shaver to the store.  So far I have had a good experience with this electric shaver and here are some additional features:

  • DualPrecision shaving system shaves long hairs and short stubble
  • Patented Super Lift and Cut Dual-blade action lifts hair to cut comfortably below skin level
  • Flexing heads automatically adjust to the curves of the face for less irritation
  • Pop-up trimmer for sideburns, mustache, and more
  • Fully washable design for easy cleaning
  • LED Charge, Battery Low, and Battery Full Indicator
  • 3-Minute quick charge for 1 cordless shave
  • Fully charges in eight hours for up to 14 days (or 40 minutes) of shaving
  • Rechargeable Cordless/Cord: Use anywhere
  • Philips Norelco 45-Day Money-Back Guarantee
  • Full 2-Year Warranty

Philips Norelco PT730 Powertouch Electric Razor

Philips Norelco stands by their product offering a 45-day money back guarantee and a full two-year warranty.  More and more companies are not giving out warranties with their product and Norelco’s warranty is a site for sore eyes.

Final Thoughts on the Philips Norelco PT730 Powertouch

Even though some features aren’t included with this version of the Powertouch, all the important ones are there.  You will get an amazing shave and you only have to change the replacement heads once a year.  If you are on a budget then this electric razor is the perfect choice for your face.
